Definition: The term "First Year Student" refers to students who have finished high school and are entering their first year of college. This may include international students, but does not include Transfer or Graduate students. Separate options and information pages exist for these students. If you are married, a single parent, or a non-traditionally aged student, you may qualify for consideration to live off-Grounds. If this is your circumstance, please send your request to be exempt from on-Grounds housing to us by e-mail at housing@virginia.edu.
