Complete the Payroll Deduction Form, available in the Graduate & Faculty/Staff Housing Office, to have rent automatically deducted from University payroll.

Please note, any one-time payments by cash or check must be made to the Housing & Residence Life Cashier's Office. The Cashier is available by appointment only.

Maintenance Requests

All maintenance requests must be submitted in the form of an online work order.

New residents should use the online work order system to report existing damages within two weeks of moving in. To do so, check the "Room Condition Report" box on the Service Request form.

For EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE ISSUES call 434-924-3053 directly. Systems Control will respond to these calls after hours, on weekends and holidays.

Preventing Pest Problems

To prevent the presence of household pests, Facilities Management exterminators conduct monthly spot treatments on the exterior of Graduate & Faculty/Staff Housing buildings. Interior treatments are conducted during apartment turnovers and upon resident request.

Despite our best treatment efforts, roaches and pests will reside in any environment that is conducive to their survival. Pest prevention is the responsibility of all tenants. Maintaining the apartment in a clean and sanitary manner is an important requirement.

Following are some suggestions which will help keep your apartment free from roaches and other unwanted pests:

  1. Keep food covered and/or refrigerated. Eliminate grease and crumbs as much as possible.
  2. Do not allow dirty dishes to remain on the countertop or in the sink overnight or for a prolonged period of time.
  3. Keep kitchen cabinets, shelves, and drawers clean and dry. Clean the floors and appliances regularly, especially around the stove and refrigerator.
  4. Do not keep garbage under the sink or allow it to accumulate inside the apartment.
  5. Report all leaking/dripping faucets or pipes immediately by completing an online work order.
  6. Limit accumulation of dirty laundry.
If pest problems arise in your apartment, complete an online work order at Maintenance Requests.
