Family Housing Introduction

Welcome to the University of Virginia! Where you choose to live will have a great impact on your academic success, involvement in University life, and the relationships you develop with others while at U.Va. Our housing facilities are comprised of two apartment communities known as Copeley Hill and University Gardens. They offer several apartment options to those seeking University housing and are designed to provide quality economical housing to families.

The Housing Division strives to create an atmosphere which balances each family's need for personal freedom, and community interaction. Community living requires a good measure of individual responsibility to ensure a generally pleasant and safe environment for all residents. Successful community living requires each of you to be aware of those around you and how your behavior may affect them.

This brochure will acquaint you with the available facilities, services provided, and regulations to be observed. Please read this carefully. It is a supplemental document to the Housing Agreement you sign.

We are happy that you plan to attend the University of Virginia and look forward to working with you in securing housing accommodations. If you have any questions regarding the availability of housing or need other assistance, feel free to contact the Family Housing Office.
