Hereford Residential College

[Area Photo]

Diversity, self-governance, and programming are the hallmarks of the vibrant community at Hereford College. The Student Senate oversees a sizeable budget that funds numerous weekly activities, plus signature events like James River tubing, a Washington DC trip, Hereford-on-the-Lawn, Busch Gardens, a flag football tournament, and a 5K charity race. Faculty Fellows and students interact through credited short course offerings, monthly themed college-wide banquets, and home-cooked meals in the Principal's home. With its spacious grounds atop Observatory Hill, Hereford residents enjoy easy access to AFC, Slaughter Rec, play fields, wooded trails, and Scott Stadium - all within a minute's bus ride to central Grounds. Both Norris House and Whyburn House are co-ed and single sex by floor; all rooms are air-conditioned, and eighty percent of the rooms are single-occupancy.

To see the calendar of activities and short courses, visit the Hereford College website at: http://www.hereford.virginia.edu. Upperclass students living in Hereford College may be required to participate in a meal plan. Please contact Dining Services for more information.
