President's
Commission
This Commission, established by Executive Order on September 27,
2000, will advise the President on changes within the tobacco farming economy
and make recommendations that target public health and the sustainability of
tobacco farming communities. The Commission's final Report

Smoking Control Resource Center: SCARCNet
Network developed by the Advocacy Institute for public
health, policy and communications specialists engaged in tobacco control
advocacy. Resources include facilitated discussions and news summaries,
research publications and media advocacy tools.
Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration
Organization targets improvements in the quality and
availability of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services in order
to reduce the illness, death, disabilities and societal costs resulting
from substance abuse and mental illnesses. Operates the National
Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information.
Tobacco BBS
Extensive information about tobacco issues in the news,

Tobacco Control
Resource Center, Inc. & The Tobacco Products Liability Project
Information about legal suits involving the tobacco industry
with access to case briefs. In addition, the Tobacco Control Resource Center
has released its Analysis
of the Multistate Settlement Agreement (MSA). This analysis includes
information about the MSA's specific terms and provisions, highlighting
its benefits and weaknesses.

Center (SRDC)
The SRDC, located at Mississippi State, is one of four
USDA-sponsored regional centers in the United States. The SRDC supports
research and extension efforts to improve the lives of people living in
