IM-REC SPORTS JOB DESCRIPTION: Outdoor Recreation Center Employee

The Outdoor Recreation Center serves the University community as a resource center specializing in outdoor equipment rental and information regarding the various outdoor recreation opportunities in the surrounding region.

We are hiring Outdoor Recreation Center employees to work this summer, May–August, during the following times:
May 2–June 6: Mondays & Fridays, 12:30–6:00 PM
June 9–August 8: Mondays & Fridays, 12:30–6:00 PM, Thursdays 2:00–6:00 PM

The pay rate is $7 for a maximum of one semester or until all skill competencies have been demonstrated successfully and consistently. After this time, the supervisor pay scale is $7.50 per hour for the duration of employment at the Outdoor Recreation Center.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

1. To assist customers in outfitting trips of their choice by providing equipment on a rental basis.
2. To responsibly handle the monetary transactions of the outdoor recreation rental center; including the proper use of the center's cash register, and completion of the appropriate forms for rentals and refunds.
3. To provide a clean, pleasant center environment for daily business as well as trip meetings.
4. To maintain such equipment that is used by both the customers and trips in conjunction with the Outdoor Recreation program and to repair equipment as needed.
