IM-Rec sports policies

Full-time UVA students, UVA faculty & staff with Recreation Memberships & their spouses with memberships are eligible to participate in all programs. UVA ID's or membership cards must be presented at registration. Non-members may only register for classes or services which indicate a non-member fee. See Program Registration for more information.

The University of Virginia is expanding access to its recreational sports facilities as an added benefit to members of the University community. Learn more about the new Plus One membership policy!

Valid UVA ID's or recreation membership cards must be presented to gain access to recreation facilities for all activities. Non-members will receive a limited access pass when they register for instructional classes.

Fees for all activities must be paid at the time of registration. Please make checks payable to UVA Intramurals. Visa and Master Card are accepted.

Guests:

Adult Guest Regulations:

1. Members are entitled to sponsor a guest(s) on a daily basis by purchasing a $5 guest pass.
2. Sponsor must accompany guest(s) and is responsible for all actions of his/her guest(s). All parties must abide by UVA regulations.
3. Guest(s) must present photo I.D. verifying age (must be at least 18 y.o.) and identity.
4. Guest pass is valid at all recreation facilities during operating hours for date of purchase only.
5. IM-Rec Sports reserves the right to refuse admittance to guests.
6. For a refund, present a valid membership card nd this receipt within 30 days of purchase to the Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) Business Office, Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM.

Youth Guest Regulations:

1. Members are entitled to sponsor a guest(s) on a daily basis by purchasing a $5 guest pass.
2. Sponsor must accompany guest(s) and is responsible for all actions of his/her guest(s). All parties must abide by UVA regulations.
3. Guest pass is valid at designated recreation facilities during Family Recreation hours for date of purchase only.
4. IM-Rec Sports reserves the right to refuse admittance to guests.
5. For a refund, present a valid membership card nd this receipt within 30 days of purchase to the Aquatic & Fitness Center (AFC) Business Office, Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM.

Children:

Children through age 17 are eligible to use designated recreation facilities during Family Recreation hours when accompanied by a current member. A Family Recreation Card (purchased from the IM-Rec Sports office), with the children's names and valid ID card from the parent, permit access to the pool, squash/ racquetball courts and basketball courts during designated hours as per facility schedules.

Should Intramural-Recreational Sports cancel a program or class, every effort will be made to contact all who enrolled by phone. Those who wish to transfer to another class may do so at that time or receive a 100% refund. Due to the economical pricing of our programs, we cannot issue refunds after a class or program has begun. Refunds made prior to the first class will be assessed a $5 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for Outdoor Program trips and workshops or for CPR and First Aid Classes.

NOTE: All aerobics drop-in cards are non-refundable and lost or stolen cards will not be replaced.

For your safety and the preservation of our wood floors, you are required to wear only aerobic, cross-training, or court shoes for indoor programs. Running, turf, deck or soft-soled shoes are not allowed. IM-Rec employees may ask anyone wearing shoes identified as inappropriate, to discontinue participation.
