Lifeguarding at UVA

Joining the UVA lifeguard team is a great way to maintain your skills, meet new people, earn money, and have fun. Students who are interested in applying for a position can download the application or pick up an application at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. The application should be completed with attached copies of certifications and returned to the Intramural-Recreational Department Business Office at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. Lifeguards typically log 10-20 hours per week, current Red Cross lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid certifications are required. Certification in Automated External Defibrillator and Oxygen Administration preferred but not required. Good skills, attitude and customer service required under the Assistant Aquatic Director and the Aquatic Director. Varied hours. Read the job description.
