AFC Pool Policies & Procedures
- Showering is required before entering the pools.
- Clean swim shoes or sandals are the only footwear approved for use
on the pool deck.
- Clean swim attire is the only approved clothing for use on the pool
deck, in the pool, in the whirlpool, or in the sauna. Cutoffs, gym shorts,
and dress shorts are prohibited.
- Infants must wear tight fitting plastic swim pants.
- Diving in less that 9 feet of water from the sides of the pool are
prohibited. Flips from the side of the pool are prohibited.
- When choosing a lane, observe the speed of the swimmers, pick a lane
comparable to your speed, and inform those swimmers that you are joining
the lane. During heavy usage, swimmers are to swim circles counterclockwise
within their lane to accommodate a maximum number of participants.
- The only approved equipment to be used in the pool is available on
the deck. Water toys and rafts are prohibited. Participants may use
mask and snorkel if they have been trained in underwater use. SCUBA
is not allowed without the presence of an instructor.
- Standing or kneeling on kickboards is prohibited.
- Hanging on lane lines is prohibited.
- Please keep off of bulkheads.
- In the Leisure pool, please refrain from playing in the entrance ramp
and walking on the edge around the pool.
- Food and drink containers are prohibited in the pool area. Avoid food
or alcoholic beverages before using the pool.
Whirlpool Policies & Procedures
- Whirlpool users must be 18 years of age or older.
- Pregnant women may not use the whirlpool.
- Elderly participants, and/or participants with respiratory or cardiopulmonary
problems should not use the whirlpool without prior medical approval
from their doctor.
- Any participant having a skin disease, nasal or ear discharge, communicable
diseases, or who is wearing any kind of bandage will not be permitted
in the whirlpool.
- Participants having any considerable areas of exposed sub-skin tissue,
open blisters, cuts, sunburn, etc. are warned that these are likely
to become infected.
- Showering is required before entering the whirlpool.
- Clean swim attire must be worn at all times.
- A time limit of 15 minutes must be observed due to the fatiguing effects
of prolonged use of the whirlpool.
- Avoid food or alcoholic beverages before using the whirlpool.
- Whirlpool capacity is 16 participants.
- After using the whirlpool, participants must shower prior to entering
the pool.
- Kickboards or flotation devices are prohibited in the whirlpool.
Sauna Policies & Procedures
- Sauna users must be 18 years of age or older.
- Pregnant women cannot use the sauna.
- Elderly participants, and/or participants with respiratory or cardiopulmonary
problems should not use the sauna without prior medical approval from
their doctor.
- Under no circumstances should users wear excess clothing such as a
sweat suit or rubberized suit while in the sauna.
- Remove all jewelry before using the sauna.
- Following vigorous exercise, allow "cool-down" time before
entering the sauna and reduce your session time.
- Clean swim attire must be worn and participants are required to bring
a towel to sit on when using the sauna.
- A time limit of 15 minutes must be observed due to the fatiguing effects
of prolonged use of the sauna.
- Upon experiencing any nausea, dizziness, hot flashes or cold chilled,
headaches, or other discomfort, leave the sauna at once.
- Avoid food or alcoholic beverages before using the sauna.
- This sauna is a dry sauna please do not pour water on the electric
coals.
- Newspapers, magazines, or other reading material are prohibited.
- After using the sauna, participants must shower prior to entering
the pool or whirlpool.
