The
Aquatic & Fitness Center was built in 1996. The original facility consisted
of the natatorium, main fitness gallery, one multipurpose room, and
the Intramural Recreational Sports Business Office. In 2004 the facility
was renovated to add the three court gymnasium, a free weight room
expansion, 2 multipurpose rooms, a cycle studio and massage therapy
rooms. The Aquatic & Fitness Center is home to both the UVA Men's and
Women's Swimming and Diving Teams. The AFC hosts a number of special
events throughout the year. Highlighted events include the Jefferson
Swim League Championships with 2,000 youth swimmers competing each
summer, Fan Fest events prior to each of the home football games, Graduation
festivities and First year summer orientation evening activities.

Membership ID is required for equipment checkout. Participants will
pay the replacement cost for
lost, stolen or damaged equipment.
