Summer 2013 Closure:
Summer 2013 Closure: The North Grounds Recreation Center will be CLOSED for the summer 2013 semester beginning June 10 to accommodate the renovations and expansion project. For renovation details visit our project page. This summer, members can play squash and racquetball at Slaughter Recreation Center or squash at the new UVA McArthur Squash Center at the Boar's Head Sports Club. We appreciate your patience and flexibility during the construction and renovation process. We’ll keep you informed regarding an opening date this fall of the newly renovated North Grounds Recreation Center!
The North Grounds Recreation Center, located near the University Law and Business Schools, was originally built in 1986 and was renovated in 2006. The facility currently includes a two-court gymnasium, weight room, fitness area, racquetball and squash courts and multi-purpose room. A 33,000 square feet expansion/renovation is currently underway. For details visit our project page.
