Emily Beker

Emily is a 3rd year undergraduate student here at U.Va. majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. She is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer as well as a Certified YogaFit instructor. Emily's focus is on making fitness accessible and enjoyable, while helping her clients improve their overall health. Depending on individual goals and the client’s fitness level, her exercise sessions may be comprised of advanced functional training, cardio conditioning, and flexibility. As your trainer, Emily will seek to provide you with challenging yet appropriate workouts that will help to foster positive changes!

Lia Bradley

Lia Bradley

Lia is an AFAA certified personal trainer. She been a trainer at the AFC since the fall of 2007 and has had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of clientele, from novice exercisers to seasoned athletes. A former competitive gymnast turned marathon runner, Lia enjoys participating in many different exercise disciplines and believes that variety helps keep physical activity fun and enjoyable.

Mollie Brien

Mollie is a third-year undergraduate student at the McIntire School of Commerce, planning to concentrate in Accounting and Finance.  As a runner and regular participant in group exercise, she is passionate about incorporating exercise into a healthy lifestyle.  When she is not studying, she keeps herself busy training for an upcoming marathon, spending time with family and friends, and cooking.

Jasmine Braxton

Jasmine Braxton

Jasmine is a 4th year undergraduate studying Sports Medicine. She has played a range of sports such as track, softball, and basketball that will help her develop a non-conventional exercise program that is challenging, yet suitable for anyone! Her approach to personal training is to make a workout fun while still maintaining the competitive edge. She can create a personalized workout utilizing anything from free weights, circuits to resistance bands and is flexible to train indoors or outdoors. Her high energy and ability to motivate ensures a great experience and can lead you towards a path of a healthy lifestyle!

Jasmine Braxton

Molly Cochran

Molly is a 4th year undergraduate student in the McIntire School of Commerce from Richmond, VA.  Before coming to UVA, she spent 13 years dancing with the Richmond Ballet and American Ballet Theatre in New York City.  She has always been passionate about fitness and is a certified group exercise instructor and personal trainer. She enjoys encouraging participants to get excited about fitness, sports, and exercising. Molly also enjoys traveling, cooking, dancing, cycling, and running.

Casey Fitchett

Casey Fitchett

Casey is a Fourth year undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Religious Studies and Economics.  Beginning her athletic career in soccer, her fitness interests have expanded to include half marathon running, tennis, basketball, and hiking.  She believes that any day can be turned into a great day for exercise and is enthusiastic about helping you achieve your fitness goals one step at a time.

Arianna is an undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Spanish. Having played a variety of sports throughout the years, she loves to stay active! A few of her favorites include basketball, competitive rowing, and running. As part of her training style, she believes in keeping a positive attitude to make exercise more enjoyable and exciting. Whether you are looking for guidance and motivation, or someone to challenge and push you to your limits, Arianna will be sure to help you reach your fitness goals.

Sophia Gaskins

Sofia Gaskins

Sofia completed her undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology & Psychology at UVA. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in Exercise Physiology here at the University. She is an AFAA certified personal trainer, and has always been passionate about fitness. She is well equipped to train a variety of clientele from novice learners to those with focus on strength training to those training for a race. Nontraditional programming is her forte as a means of eliminating boredom. Sofia was a former competitive cheerleader here at the University.

Jamie Gottshall

Jamie Gottshall

Jamie is an AFAA certified personal trainer originally from Colonial Heights, VA. She has experience working with a wide range of clients and has been involved in fitness since 2002. She has been a certified lifeguard for the past 7 years and swam competitively in high school, along with participating in volleyball and track. She currently is a cheerleader at the University of Virginia.

Hannah Kaylor

Hannah Kaylor

Hannah recently completed her Bachelor's degree at the University in Exercise Physiology and is currently pursuing a Master's in Exercise Physiology. She loves to include creativity and novelty in exercise sessions to keep her clients motivated. Through her coursework, she has become very knowledgeable in exercise programming in order to reach the goals of individuals from different fitness levels. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys participating in a variety of activities including long-distance running, Zumba, and kickboxing.

Chris’s expertise stems from a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and many years of functional sports performance training.  If your goal is to gain muscle mass, decrease body fat, increase cardiovascular health, or simply to challenge yourself, request Chris when registering.

John McCall

John McCall

John McCall is the Assistant Director for Outdoor Recreation at UVA and holds a Masters degree in Sports and Exercise Science. He enjoys helping others develop and maintain healthy and fit lifestyles in ways that keep physical activity fun and exciting. On a personal level, John enjoys trail running, rock/mountain climbing, and skiing and has a passion for endurance events. Whether you are looking to get off the couch or want to run your first marathon, John can help you get there!

Lisa Roth

Lisa Roth

Lisa is a fourth year undergraduate student at U.Va. studying English and government. She has always had a passion for health and fitness. In high school, she was a competitive tennis player and ran track and cross country. In college, she phased out of team sports and shifted her focus to training on her own. Lisa really enjoys running and completed her second marathon this past May. In addition to personal training, Lisa teaches different group exercise classes through IM-Rec Sports including cycle, core blast, and 30-20-10.  She believes exercise can serve to reduce stress as well as a way of challenging the physical self. Nothing is as rewarding as setting fitness goals and working hard to reach them!

Elizabeth graduated from UVA in May of 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art and Spanish. She has been certified as an AFAA Group Exercise Instructor since 2007 and as a personal trainer since 2009. She enjoys encouraging individuals to get excited about fitness, teaching cycle classes, and designing programs for those interested in creative and new ways to increase their personal fitness level. When she's not painting in her studio, she enjoys biking and exploring the beautiful outdoors, dancing, and is always seeking new adventures!

Mario Zayas

Mario Zayas

Mario is a 3rd year undergraduate student at U.Va. and a NASM certified personal trainer. He has been customizing fitness programs based on the necessities of each of his clients for the past three years, as well as taking the extra step to foster relationships with each of them. His focus is on motivating clients and helping them reach their fitness goals. In addition, Mario has been an athlete since a very young age, attaining a black belt at Taekwondo at only age 15. Currently, he is also a competitive racquetball player, having won various tournaments nationally. So if you are looking to lead a healthier lifestyle or are interested in sports specific training, Mario has the knowledge and experience to take you there in no time!
