Swimming since age 5, Paige has been moving and grooving since she was a youngster. When she moved to Minneapolis in '94, the year The Mighty Ducks was released, she was inspired by Emilio Estevez and his crew and decided to try ice-hockey for a season. She didn't score a single goal the whole year, and soon traded her skates for a pair of Asics. She hasn't stopped running since, although cold winters provided the opportunity to take up nordic skiing in the off-season. Today, she incorporates teaching and fitness components into her life in a variety of outlets, including coaching cross country at Albemarle High School, teaching Group Exercise classes, and training for marathons. When she isn't outside moving around, she pursues her affinity for cooking, and loves to share recipes and ideas for preparing in-season, local foods. She is also aware that there is more to fitness than physical components, and she is very interested in keeping the mind and heart in shape as well.

After growing up watching several close family members struggle with
severe obesity and subsequent health problems, I made a commitment
to myself to be fit for life. I knew that fitness didn't mean being
stick thin, but in making lifestyle habits out of regular exercise,
healthy portion control, stress management, and other factors of overall
well-being. For me, implementing these things permanently means I will
be at a level of health that will allow me to live a long, active lifestyle
relatively free of many of the complications unhealthy lifestyles can
lead to.
