Outdoor Soccer and Softball
Information Sheet - Fall 2008
When and where will entries be taken, and what is the deadline?
Registration for Outdoor Soccer and Softball will be taken online and payments will be made in the AFC Business Office from Tuesday August 26 - Tuesday September 2. All entries must be submitted by 5:30pm on the final day of the registration period. The entry fee is $50/team.
What is the next step?
A MANDATORY Team Captain's/Free
Agent's Meeting will be held Thursday, September 4 in the Chemistry Building Room 402 at 6:00pm.
What are the rules?

When are games played?
Games begin on Sunday, September 7. Teams will play at different times each week and should be prepared to play at any time. However, regularly scheduled game times can be viewed by clicking here.
When and where will schedules be posted?
Schedules will be posted on Wednesday, September 3 by 5:00pm on our website. Schedules
will be updated weekly and posted on-line, at The Park and at the AFC.
Where are games played?
Softball and Soccer games will be played at The Park.
When does
the season start and how long does it last?
The season starts Sunday, September 7 . Each team will
play once a week for 3 weeks during the regular season. In the event that there are an odd amount of
teams in the league, teams may have the opportunity to play double
headers.
What is
the format for the post-season?
There will be a single elimination post-season
tournament. Every team that averages
3.25 Sportsmanship points during regular season games and does not forfeit
during the regular season will be scheduled to play in the playoffs. Regular season records and average Sportsmanship
Points during the regular season will determine seeding for the playoffs.
What do champions receive?
The All-University champions will receive a University of Virginia Intramural Sports Champion T-shirt.
