Program Description: The Fitness & Instruction Program offers lifetime fitness opportunities to the University and Charlottesville communities. The purpose of our program is to provide meaningful activity opportunities and provide healthy alternatives for adult and youth participants. This program runs during the fall, spring and summer semesters. We are always looking for new program ideas so if you have experience in an activity and are interested in teaching with IM-Rec Sports, let us know and we’ll take a look at your proposal.
Position Description: Adult Instructors must be enthusiastic, positive and enjoy working with people. Instructors will be responsible for creating lesson plans, daily instruction in support of the lesson plans, communication with participants and program supervisors, completing administrative paperwork, as well as being a good customer service representative for the Intramural-Recreational Sports Department. Previous teaching experience in your area of interest strongly preferred.
Classes range from beginner to advanced lessons
Position Description: Youth Swim & Tennis Instructors must be enthusiastic, positive and enjoy working with children. Instructors will be responsible for creating lesson plans that meet the established level curriculum, daily instruction in support of the lesson plans, communication with parents and program supervisors, completing administrative paperwork, as well as being a good customer service representative for the Intramural-Recreational Sports Department. Previous teaching experience with children and certification preferred.
Levels range from pre-schoolers to high-schoolers in a group setting. Starting pay $9/hr and $10/hr with current certification.
