Session I: May 12–16 & May 19–21; Session II: May 27–30 & June 2–5

All times listed for each level will run during BOTH sessions, unless otherwise noted.


Swimming's Cool Classes: Ages 3 & Under

Goldfish

Parent & Infant Swim: Ages 6–18 months: Parent and infant are introduced to basic water skills, including water adjustment, supported movement and personal safety skills. Skills are introduced through water games and group activities. Snug plastic pants or swim diapers required.

Time: 4:30–5:00 PM


Parent & Toddler Swim: Ages 18 months–3 Years:
Water adjustment and personal safety are essential for the development of strong swimming skills. With the parent’s assistance, classes will focus on water exploration, floating, basic locomotion, stroke readiness and stroke development. Skills are introduced through water games and group activities. Snug plastic pants or swim diapers required.

Swimming's Cool Classes: Ages 4 & Up

Level 1: Purple Minnow

Class is designed to help children feel comfortable in the water without parent assistance. The class continues to work with children becoming comfortable in the water, by teaching front and back floating with an introduction to gliding, submerging underwater, and safety awareness/skills.

Times: 4:15–5:00 PM
  5:15–6:00 PM
  6:15–7:00 PM


Level 2: Red Snapper

Children work on refining front and back glides. Introduction to back crawl, front crawl, rhythmic breathing, elementary backstroke, sitting dives, and safety awareness/skills will also be taught. This class will be divided between pools based on age. This class will be divided between the shallow warm water pool and the Olympic size pool, based on age.

Level 3: Green Dolphin

Children will work on front and back crawl, retrieve objects in chest deep water, and elementary backstroke. Introductions to diving, treading water, surface dives and safety awareness/skills will also be presented.

Level 4: Blue Whale

Class is designed for children to refine elementary backstroke, diving, treading water, surface dives, rotary breathing and front and back crawl. Also introduced will be the breaststroke, butterfly, sidestroke, survival floating, turns, and safety awareness/skills.

Level 5: Silver Shark

Students will learn stroke technique and mechanics. Refinement of butterfly, sidestroke, breaststroke, and stroke turns will also be perfected. Introduction to lifesaving techniques and safety awareness/skills will be taught.
