The
University's Department of
Human Resources has become the latest major administrative unit
to revamp its web site, creating a new, streamlined home page designed
with user-friendliness in mind.
The
page includes permanent links for job-seekers, U.Va. employees and
U.Va. hiring officials, and another labeled "About Human Resources
at U.Va." There is also a feature link, which this week offered
information about the Aug. 19 New Faculty and Staff Welcome Resource
Fair.

Job-seekers can find a comprehensive listing of job vacancies,
instructions for applying, employee benefits and a snippet of
the new employee welcome video.

Current employees can access information on benefits, HR policies,
faculty and staff councils, foreign travel opportunities and pay
plan information.

Hiring officials will find links to hiring guides for faculty
and staff, personnel policies, new employee orientation resources
and payroll deadlines.

The "About Human Resources" page includes a welcome
from Chief Human Resource Officer Thomas Gausvik, a department
directory, and manager and employee communications.
The
web site also provides several forms and publications. Human Resources
solicits feedback from visitors to the site via a "Feedback
for HR" button.
