Women's Club entertains
Virginia 202 themes
The
U.Va. Women's
Club has planned four major events this year around the University's
strategic plan for the future, "Virginia 2020: Agenda for
the Third Century." Programs this year will focus on the
fine and performing arts at U.Va.
The
annual fall meeting, to be held Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. in Caplin Pavilion,
will showcase "Music at the University: Now and the Future"
with guest speaker Judith Shatin, music professor and department
chair. In addition, U.Va. music faculty and students will perform
for club members and guests.
A Nov. 17 event will focus on the Drama
Department, with a dinner and dress rehearsal of "A Chorus
Line." On March 2, a U.Va. cabaret will be staged in Newcomb
Hall Ballroom, and the final event of the year will be a May 1
spring luncheon offering an update on the Virginia 2020 initiatives.
The Women's Club is open to all women members, wives and widows
of the faculty, administration, research staff and Department
of Athletics. For information, contact president Zan Short at
