George Cooper III
Dr. George Cooper III, a retired radiologist who introduced the
specialties of radiation physics, nuclear medicine and radiobiology
at the Health Sciences Center, died Nov. 6 in Charlottesville.
He was 91. Born in Monterray, Mexico, he earned his bachelor's
and medical degrees at U.Va. in 1931 and 1935, respectively. He
was on the University's radiology faculty from 1936 to 1964 and
from 1970 to 1979.
