Dual degree program

U.Va. and the University of Virginia's College at Wise have signed a pact that creates a dual-degree program, allowing students to earn a bachelor's degree from the College at Wise and a master's degree from the School of Engineering and Applied Science in Charlottesville. The agreement, now in effect, was signed in Wise on April 12. The program will give Southwest Virginia a competitive edge in recruiting high-tech industry, said state Del. Clarence "Bud" Phillips.
