The
exhibit features site-specific works in both public and private
locations, placed throughout Charlottesville, Albermarle and Orange
counties. The works explore Thomas Jefferson's vast influence
and varied contributions to American history.
Contributing
artists include: Ann Hamilton, Dennis Oppenheim, Agnes Denes,
Martha Jackson-Jarvis, Lucio Pozzi, William Bennett, Rosemarie
Fiore, Daniel Reeves and Tim Curtis. Other local exhibitors are:
Susan Bacik, Robert Strini, Barbara MacCallum, Susan Chowder,
Dan Mahon, Robert Reed, Beatrix Ost and Todd Murphy.
Throughout
April and early June, area volunteers collaborated with the artists
to help produce the exhibition, which was curated by Lyn Bolen
Rushton, owner of Les Yeux du Monde Gallery in Charlottesville.
The exhibit kicked off June 17 with community-centered activities
recognizing the artists.
