P&T's White has 'interim' tag removed

Rebecca White has been appointed as the permanent director of Parking and Transportation following a national search and an extensive interview process.

A University alumna and former student bus driver, trainer and operations supervisor with University Transit Service, White returned to the University in 1987 as the assistant director of Parking and Transportation, a position she held until her recent appointment as acting director. She replaces long-time director Al Whalley, who retired in September.

In 1998, White achieved the parking industry's most stringent professional certification, Certified Administrator of Public Parking, issued by the International Parking Institute.

"White brings to the position her knowledge and expertise in both the parking and transportation fields, her understanding and appreciation of the complexities of providing service in an academic and medical center setting, her commitment to improving customer service and her demonstrated leadership skills," said Richard Kovatch, director of Business Operations.
