WFPA
seeking nominations
The
Women Faculty and Professional
Association is seeking nominations to honor U.Va. women with
two annual awards: the Woman of Achievement Award, which recognizes
a woman who has led the way in improving the status of women or
who is outstanding in her role as a manager, organizer, researcher
or teacher; and the Aspiring Woman Award, given to a female employee
who has returned to school to obtain a degree.
The
deadline for nominations for both awards has been extended to
March 26. All women employed by the University are eligible for
both awards. Nomination packages for the Woman of Achievement
award should include a letter of nomination, a summary of accomplishments
(e.g., current resumé, curriculum vitae, or summary statement),
and two letters of recommendation. Please provide specific details
related to the nominee's professional achievements, including
her role in the promotion of women's issues at the University.
Send
the completed package to the Selection Committee, c/o Beth White,
School of Nursing, Box 800782. Incomplete packets cannot be reviewed.
Re-submission of previous nominations is encouraged.

Aspiring Woman Award is an annual $250 scholarship. To be eligible,
the woman must have been a U.Va. employee, full- or part-time,
for at least one year, and be enrolled in a degree program (associate,
