Governor
appoints two alumni to BOV
Thomas
F. Farrell II and Thomas A. Saunders III were named to the U.Va.
Board of Visitors March
29 by Gov. Jim Gilmore, who also re-appointed Terence P. Ross
and William G. Crutchfield Jr.
Farrell,
who is chief executive officer of Dominion Energy, earned his
undergraduate and law degrees from U.Va. He is a member of the
State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
Saunders,
a native of Ivor, Va., received his M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate
School of Business Administration. He is a founding partner of
Saunders Karp and Megrue, a private equity firm in New York.
Saunders
was national co-chair of U.Va.s recent $1.43 billion campaign.
He served as chair of the Darden School Foundation from 1994 through
1997.
Crutchfield, of Charlottesville, is founder of Crutchfield Corp.
Crutchfield was first appointed to UVa.s Board of Visitors
in 1997 and chairs the committee overseeing the Universitys
College at Wise.
Also
appointed in 97, Ross, of Alexandria, is a law partner of
the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
