Clarifications

In an April 6 Inside UVA article on Susan Burns being this year’s
recipient of the Alumni Board of Trustees Teaching Award, a quote
about her teaching model of “concept, theory, and ‘change-up’”
should have been attributed to James A. Smith, the Cavaliers’
Distinguished Teaching Professor, who is a colleague of Burns.
•
The March 23 article on Slavic professor Natalie Kononenko had
the wrong date for her arrival at U.Va. She joined the faculty
in 1974.
