Two
University instructors have received the prestigious Rome Prize.
Architecture lecturer Evelyn Tickle and photographer Kevin Everson
have been awarded fellowships to study and pursue their own projects
in Rome.
Sponsored
by the American Academy in Rome, the competition annually gives
out 28 prizes in an array of artistic and scholarly fields.
Tickle,
who received a joint prize with her husband, architect Alexander
Kitchin, teaches a design/build studio at the School
of Architecture.
Everson,
a studio art professor, teaches cinematography and installation
art. His project will be photographing people of African descent
and repositioning these images in a variety of media.
