Harmon
gets new post
William
W. Harmon, U.Va. vice
president for student affairs since 1994, will become senior
vice president this summer to work on athletics fund raising,
among other duties.
Patricia M. Lampkin, associate vice president for student affairs,
will serve as interim vice president while a search is conducted,
said U.Va. President John T. Casteen III.
In his new role, Harmon, who will report to Casteen, will serve
as a key member of the team spearheading plans for a new basketball
and special-events facility. With longtime experience as a student-affairs
administrator and as a former student-athlete, he also will assist
in implementing recommendations of the athletics task force related
to academic support and student life.
