Researchers
snag grants
Four
U.Va. researchers are among the recipients of $825,000 in grants
awarded by the Commonwealth Health Research Board to 13 medical
and health researchers at public and private colleges across Virginia.
U.Va. will receive $275,614.
The
U.Va. researchers are Talissa Altes, $81,797, assessing lung microstructure;
Klaus Hagspiel, $67,905, developing imaging techniques to assess
radiation induced pulmonary injury; Christopher Kramer, $51, 912,
imaging atherosclerotic plaque; George Kulik, $40,000, cancer
therapy.
The
other schools receiving grants are: Eastern Virginia Medical School,
James Madison University, Sweet Briar College, Virginia Commonwealth
University and Virginia Tech.
