Roberts
elected
The
Universitys College Foundation board of trustees has elected
Alan Y. Roberts of Charlottesville as its president. Roberts helped
establish the foundation to attract high-level private investment
in the Universitys liberal arts programs and advance the
goals of the College.
Formally
announced on April 20 with an endowment of more than $77 million,
the foundation is a Virginia non-stock corporation that was organized
over the past two years and evolved from the College Alumni Council.
The foundations 30 trustees are from around the country
and meet regularly to promote the interests of the College.
Roberts
(Col. 64) is a member of the Raven and Lawn Societies and
gift and reunions chair for his class. Before retiring to Charlottesville,
he was an antiques dealer, consultant and appraiser in the New
York area.
