Roberts elected

The University’s College Foundation board of trustees has elected Alan Y. Roberts of Charlottesville as its president. Roberts helped establish the foundation to attract high-level private investment in the University’s liberal arts programs and advance the goals of the College.

Formally announced on April 20 with an endowment of more than $77 million, the foundation is a Virginia non-stock corporation that was organized over the past two years and evolved from the College Alumni Council. The foundation’s 30 trustees are from around the country and meet regularly to promote the interests of the College.

Roberts (Col. ’64) is a member of the Raven and Lawn Societies and gift and reunions chair for his class. Before retiring to Charlottesville, he was an antiques dealer, consultant and appraiser in the New York area.
