Getting new bosses started

A training and orientation program for employees who have been recently hired or promoted into supervisory roles at U.Va. will be held Aug 22 & 23.

The program, offered by the Central Training Division (formerly ODT), is intended to orient new supervisors to key University systems and processes — e.g., recruiting, hiring and performance management of employees; to familiarize supervisors with institutional philosophies, goals, and expectations; and to guide them in becoming effective leaders and mentors.

The program also provides opportunites to meet and network with colleagues and to learn about Web-based resources .
