Commemorative wall to stay through October

The commemorative space for the University community to attach flags, flowers and images in honor of the lives lost during the Sept. 11 tragedy was disassembled this past weekend — as had been scheduled. President John T. Casteen III decided to extend the memorial wall Saturday morning and is encouraging members of the University and Charlottesville communities to continue to use it to express their sorrow.

The wall, on the east fence of the University tennis courts, was created by the School of Architecture and dedicated on Sept. 14. It will remain in place through October.
