• Lucille Bryant Blakey, 95, of Charlottesville died Oct. 6. She worked as an LPN at the Medical Center for 43 years.

• Elizabeth Johnson Bullock died Oct. 11. With degrees in speech pathology and audiology, she taught at the university.

• William F. Melville Jr., 80, died Oct. 10 in Arnold, Md. He had chaired the graduate school of retail banking at the University.

• Ethel Elliott Ware, 84, died Oct. 17, in Charlottesville. She was employed at Medical Center before her retirement.
