• Vivian Stiles Edwards, formerly of Charlottesville, died March 15. She retired from the benefits office after 28 years of service.

• Patsy F. Nash, 43, of Charlottesville, died April 2. She was employed at U.Va. from January 1981 until her death, most recently as the office manager for the Integrated Systems Project.

• Margaret L. “Maggie” Nuckols, 66, of Charlottesville, died April 5. A graduate of the School of Nursing, she served as a nurse practitioner in Student Health from November 1983 until January 2001.

• Louise H. Holt, 81, of Scottsville, died April 12. She was employed at U.Va. from 1966 to 1970.

• Howard L. Hamilton died April 15, in Charlottesville. He came to U.Va. in 1962 as a professor of biology and taught until his retirement in 1982. During his tenure at the University, he also taught histology, held the office of treasurer in Beta Chapter, Phi Beta Kappa, and became a member of The Raven Society.
