Food Lion’s gift benefits NICU

The Health System’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has received a $1 million gift from Food Lion, the Salisbury, N.C.-based grocery store chain.

The gift will help fund $3.1 million in renovations to the NICU, including a range of family-friendly amenities to complement the state-of-the-art care from NICU doctors and staff. Work is expected to begin in 2004.
