Payroll
go-live moved to Sept. 26
Citing a need for more testing and conflicts with fiscal year-end
deadlines, the Integrated Systems Projects executive committee
postponed the implementation date for the new Human Resources/Payroll
software system from June 26 until Sept. 26.
These
additional 90 days will allow the ISP, University Human Resources
staff, and schools and departments to more fully test and learn
how to operate the Oracle applications, so that everyone is well-prepared
at go-live, said ISP director William Randolph.
The
delay will allow University employees to get beyond the fiscal
year-end close and the busy human resources/payroll transaction
months of August and September without the additional burden of
beginning to operate a new system, he said.
Oracles
fixed assets application will go live July 1 as scheduled.
The
Oracle HR/Payroll applications have proven themselves to be fully
capable of doing the Universitys human resources and payroll
business, said Randolph. It is now our goal to use
the lessons of our phase one implementation to ensure a smoother
transition for phase two.
