Postal
rates increasing
Effective June 30, U.S. Postal Service rates are going up
for several classes of mail.
The
regular first-class mail rate will increase from 34 to 37 cents,
and the postcard rate goes from 21 to 23 cents.
For
priority mail, the one-pound flat rate is decreasing by 10 cents
to $3.85. The rates for packages weighing one to five pounds will
rise by an average of 13.5 percent.
For
express mail, the one-pound flat rate jumps from $12.45 to $13.65.
The rates for all other weights increase by an average of 9.4
percent.
