Talk maps out path of early explorations
For the approaching bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition,
the University Library
will mount an exhibit of rare maps and journals shedding light
on Europeans early evolving views of the American continent.
Historian Gary E. Moulton, a noted authority on the exploration
of the West and editor-in-chief of the 13-volume Journals
of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, will speak at U.Va. Sunday,
Nov. 10, to help launch the exhibit. His talk, at 3 p.m. in Newcomb
Theater, is open to the public and is co-sponsored by U.Va.s
Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Project.
