See exhibit on building the library through Aug. 27
“Building the University of Virginia Library” tells the library’s
story, from its placement“
at the Head of the Lawn” by University founder Thomas Jefferson in
the early 19th century to its presence in the global community through
digital initiatives in the 21st
century.
The
display features historic drawings and photographs
from the University archives,
many of which can be viewed on the Online Visual
History Web site at http://mcgregor.lib.virginia.edu/prints/.
The
exhibit will be on display at Memorial Hall in the main
entrance lobby of Alderman Library.
