One hundred years after its first production at the Moscow Art Theater in Russia, the Drama Department will present Anton Chekhov’s final play. “The Cherry Orchard” will run Nov. 18 through 20 and continue Dec. 1 through 4. Directed by Master of Fine Arts candidate Clinton Johnson, the play follows a once wealthy and honored Russian family as they cope with the loss of their estate. Described as a comedy and a drama, this is the second production in the department’s 2004-2005 drama season. Curtain time is 8 p.m.; tickets can be reserved by calling 924-3376.
