Arras and Fuentes win SCHEV award
Bioethicist John D. Arras and atmospheric scientist José D. Fuentes were honored by Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine on Feb. 23 during a ceremony at the Library of Virginia in Richmond for their excellence in teaching, research, knowledge integration and public service as recipients of the 2006 Outstanding Faculty Award, administered by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). Kaine to speak at Finals
Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine will be the commencement speaker at the University of Virginia’s Final Exercises on Sunday, May 21, President John T. Casteen III announced on Monday. As part of the 177th U.Va. commencement, Gov. Kaine will speak on the Lawn at 10 a.m., following the traditional academic procession. Full story

Gies selected as U.Va.’s first academic dean

| Last Ball in U-Hall: The last regular season men’s basketball game in U-Hall is scheduled for March 5 against Maryland. The women’s team played their final game on Feb. 27 giving U-Hall a proper goodbye with an 83-64 win over Clemson. For more on U-Hall click here . |
