U.Va.’s minimum hourly pay rate jumps to $9.37
The University’s minimum hiring rate will jump from $8.88 per hour to $9.37 per hour in response to a market study that found rising entry-level wages in the Charlottesville area, President John T. Casteen III announced on March 7. Full story

Dworkin, Zumthor TJ Foundation Medalists
Ronald M. Dworkin, the Frank Henry Sommer Professor of Law at the New York University School of Law and also professor of jurisprudence at Oxford University, is the recipient of the 2006 Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Law. Peter Zumthor, the internationally acclaimed architect known for an extreme attention to craft and detail, has won the 41st annual Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Architecture. Full story
Parking rates to rise June 1
Beginning June 1, parking rates will rise by $1 a month for those who park in commuter lots and by $4 a month for those in University “reserved” and “premium reserved” lots, Rebecca White, director of Parking and Transportation, announced this week. Full story
