Fireworks
The start of a new Reunions tradition

A June 3 fireworks display high above the Rotunda provided an exciting flourish to Reunions Weekend, June 2-4. This year’s reunion brought more than 3,000 alumni and guests back to the University, with one individual coming from as far away as Sydney, Australia. In addition to the first-time fireworks display, the enhanced reunions program included numerous academic and social activities over the course of the weekend. To date, this year’s Reunion Giving program has raised $33.6 million for the University, including $18.2 million from the Class of 1976 alone. Leaders in class participation include the Class of 1956 (43 percent) and the Class of 1971 (32 percent). The gift tallying will continue until June 30.
