"Previews" Set the Stage for New Student System
“Campus Community.” “Academic Structure.” These terms can conjure up a number of images. In the world of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, they encompass some of the new concepts and opportunities that will characterize the University’s new student information system.
Learning what these, and other, PeopleSoft terms mean and the concepts they represent is the first step to making decisions about how the system will work for U.Va. This learning is taking place through a series of “Previews,” facilitated by consultants from CedarCrestone, Inc.
Over 200 people from across Grounds were involved in 39 Preview sessions – which also include topics pertaining to Admission, Financial Aid/Student Finance, Student Records, and University Services – held over 6 weeks in February and March.
“The Previews provided stakeholders with an opportunity to see how PeopleSoft looks and works, while also sharing our business and system requirements with the SSP team and consultants in the context of the new system,” explains Charlie Grisham, SSP Director. “This exchange will help all of us make important system setup decisions in the very near future.”
