Initial Access to Oracle Applications (Installing the J-initiator)

1. (If you are just installing the new j-initiator, be sure to first connect to the VPN) Navigate to the Integrated System home page.

2. Select the link to access Oracle Applications.

The following window will appear.

3. If you are just upgrading the new j-initiator, select "Production."

4. Select the Go button.

If your browser is Netscape, goto task #5.

If browser is Internet Explorer, goto task #17.

5. Using Netscape as your browser, the following window will appear.

6. Select the Get the Plug-in button.

If the Plug-in Not Loaded warning box does not appear. Click on the puzzle piece.

7. The Save As dialog box will appear.

8. Save the file as "jinit1.1.8.11.exe" to "C:\windows\temp".

9. Close all applications including Netscape.

10. Navigate to "C:\windows\temp"

11. Double click the "jinit1.1.8.11.exe" file.

The install wizard will install the file.

12. Select the Next button when prompted. Select the Next button when prompted again.

The installation will complete.

13. Open Netscape and navigate to the Integrated System home page.

14. Select the link to access Oracle Applications.

15. If you are just upgrading the new j-initiator, select "Production."

16. Select the Go button.

Goto task #19.

17. Using Internet Explorer as your browser, the following window will appear.

18. Select the Yes button on the Security Warning window to install and run the required file.

"Oracle Jinitiator" will automatically load and install.

19. After installation is complete, the log on form will appear.

20. If you are already an Oracle user, enter your user ID and password. This is the last step if you are using these instructions just to load a new version of the j-initiator.

21. Select the Connect button.

22. The Responsibilities form will appear.

23. Select the desired Responsibility.

24. Select the OK button.

25. The Navigator form will appear.

26. Select the desired Function, then select the sub-function.

27. Select the Open button.

28. The selected form will open.
