Using the Find Mode to Search for Data
In this section you will learn how to use the Find Mode to search for data in the Integrated System.
Steps:
- You are going to find the supplier, ABCD Supply Company, that was entered in the last section. When you are looking for data, you go to the function where the data is entered (i.e., if you were looking for a payment voucher, you would click on Payment Voucher.) In this case, since we are looking for a vendor, we go to the Vendor Adds function.
Double-click the Vendor Adds list item. Step 1 - Click the Find... button. Step 2
- When you click on the Find button, a separate form will open, in this case, the "Find Suppliers" form. The find mode gives you a separate form in which you can enter your search parameters. You can enter as many or as few search parameters as you want, but the more you enter, the more restricted your search will be. You can use the wildcard character, %, as applicable.
Enter the desired information into the Supplier Name field. Enter "ABCD SUPPLY%". Step 3 - Notice that the supplier name will appear based on the search parameter you typed in the Supplier Name field. If there is only one name that matches what you entered in the search, some basic information will appear automatically after you enter the search parameters. If your search matches more than one item in the list of values, another window will open with a list of those that matched your search. Click on the arrows icon below if you would like to see an example of this. Otherwise, continue by clicking on the Find button.
Click the Find button. Step 4 - You can view the sites for the supplier.
Click the Sites button. Step 5 - You can press the down arrow on your keyboard to see any additional sites for this supplier.
Press [Down]. Step 6 - The other site appears. Step 7
Congratulations! You have completed the section on Using the Find Mode to search for data in the Integrated System.
