The Integrated System Website

This section will give you an overview of the Integrated System Website, including the Getting Started information, and how to access help documents in the How Do I...? section, and other resources for help when using the Integrated System. You will also see how to view the IS Interfaces and Data Flow, which is an interactive tool that explains how the various modules in the Integrated System are inter-related and work together.

Steps:

  1. The Integrated System website is the starting point for accessing the Integrated System. The website also provides you with valuable information about the Integrated System, as well as links to related information.   Step 1
  2. The Getting Started button will lead you to important information such obtaining access to the Integrated System, IS responsibilities, preparing your desktop, and registering for training. You can also print out an Integrated System Access Form, which is the form that must be signed by the employee's supervisor and the department's Data Security Contact (DSC), and ultimately gives employees access to the system.

  3. The How Do I...? section is where you find online help documentation, as well as PDF files of the student guides used in Integrated System training classes.

  4. Click the Finance Links button.

    You will see links to finance-related offices at UVa, such as the University Comptroller and the Office of Sponsored Programs as well as links to other financial documents and information.   Step 4
  5. Click the HR/Payroll Links button.

    You will see links to HR/Payroll offices at UVa and University Human Resources, as well as links to other HR/Payroll Information.   Step 5
  6. Click the Reports button.

    You will see links to information on Reports and Oracle Discoverer, which is the reporting tool that is used with the Integrated System.   Step 6
  7. Click the Forms button.

    You will see links to Integrated System-related forms including forms for Grants Accounting, Purchasing, and the Integrated System Access form.   Step 7
  8. IS Interfaces & Data Flow is an interactive tool to help you understand how data flows between and among the different modules in the Integrated System. In this example, take a look at the purchasing module and see how it interacts with Accounts Payable and other modules.

    Click the IS Interfaces & Data Flow link.   Step 8
  9. Double-click the Purchasing object.   Step 9
  10. Since you selected Purchasing, you will see how data flows to and from the Purchasing module. The name of the module will appear at the top, and the module you selected will be highlighted in yellow.   Step 10
  11. You can click on any highlighted box to change the view and see how the data flows to and from that module.

    Click the Accounts Payable link.   Step 11
  12. Now you can see how data flows to and from the Accounts Payable module.   Step 12
  13. There are many other Quick Links with valuable information which you can view as needed and at your convenience.   Step 13
