Overview of the Integrated system

In this section you will receive a basic overview of the Integrated System and learn how employees at the University of Virginia use the system.

Steps:

  1. The Integrated System (IS) at the University of Virginia is group of integrated software applications, also called an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, from Oracle Corporation. Since the software is customized to meet our needs at the University of Virginia, and since it includes inter-related modules or applications, it is referred to as The Integrated System. The Financial modules (applications) of the ERP were implemented in July 2001, and the Human Resources and Payroll modules were implemented in October 2002.

At this time, the Integrated System is used for the administration of fiance and human resources only. However, the Integrated System will also interface with the Jobs@UVa system, the treasury system, as well as the Student System, all currently in the development stages.

  2. Some employees use the Integrated System to perform financial functions like purchasing, grants accounting, and accounting for fixed assets.

Human Resources functions in the Integrated System include timekeeping, payroll processing, hiring and terminating employees, maintaining employee records, and labor distribution.   Step 2
  3. All UVa employees use the Integrated System to access payroll information via the online Payslip.
The Payslip is accessible through Employee Self Service, which is a separate responsibility in the Integrated System. You can click on the icon below now if you want to see information regarding the UVa online Payslip, including a tutorial on how to access and read your payslip.

Using the responsibility Employee Self Service, employees can also view, and in some cases change, their personal information (such as phone numbers and address), as well as bank information.

Employees can also sign up for training classes by accessing Learner Home in Employee Self Service.   Step 3
  4. You can access the Integrated System via the internet using Internet Explorer. The website address for the Integrated System is:
