The Chief Human Resource Officer is responsible for ensuring that this document is necessary, reflects actual practice, and supports University policy.

Discoverer 10g is a powerful and easy-to-use reporting tool developed by Oracle that enables you to view data stored in the Integrated System database. ISDS reports writers have created pre-defined reports that you can simply select and run at will. It is important for you to know that you cannot corrupt or accidentally delete a pre-defined report, so if you make a mistake, it is ok. You will need to activate your VPN, the same as you need to activate it for access to the Oracle applications (other than Employee and Manager Self-Service). To get started, follow the steps below:

1. Activate the VPN

2. To Access Discoverer, use your web browser to navigate to the Integrated System Home Page: www.virginia.edu/integratedsystem

3. Press the icon for Discoverer Finance/HR

4. Enter the Connection fields:

Do not change the default: Connect To Oracle Applications
Username: your computing ID (Your e-mail id without @virginia.edu)
Password: your IS (Oracle) password
Database: iods
End User Layer Leave blank
Responsibility The default is always UVA ODS Specialist
You need to add –Limited
DO NOT change the default: Locale
Press [GO]

5. Press the [Browse] button to view pre-defined reports
