Entering Bank Statement Information Manually
The CM Bank Reconciliation Accountant is responsible for transferring and importing the bank files and correcting any interface errors.

The Director of Accounting Services is responsible for ensuring that this document is necessary, reflects actual practice, and supports University policy.
This activity is performed every Wednesday night.
CM Bank Reconciliation Accountant
1. FTP the bank file from the U.Va. server to the IS server.
The transfer should be run every Wednesday night.
The data are stored in IS temporary tables.
2. Run the U.Va. Bank Transfer File program.
The transfer should be run after the FTP of the bank file.
The data are transferred from the IS temporary tables to interface tables.
If there are bank statement line errors, goto task #3. Otherwise, goto task #4.
3. Correct bank statement interface errors.
Interface errors may be the result of:

The Import Bank Statement and AutoReconciliation program will transfer data from the interface tables to the main tables and run the AutoReconciliation program.
This process will:

5. Review bank statement interface errors.
Review and correct any bank statement interface errors.
Refer to Reviewing Bank Statement Interface Errors.
If you need to enter bank statement lines manually, goto task #6. Otherwise, end of activity.
6. Enter bank statement information manually.
In addition to importing bank statement information automatically from bank statement interface tables, you can enter bank statement information manually. You can enable users to update information on a statement that was previously entered manually or loaded automatically, even if the statement is already reconciled. When you enter a bank statement manually, you enter the bank statement header and the transaction lines.
You can reconcile transaction lines as you enter them, or you can reconcile the bank statement manually or automatically after you enter all the transaction lines and save your work.
