The
Director of Fixed Assets Accounting is responsible for ensuring that this

Basic
Information:
-
An intermittent click from
the handheld means low signal or no signal.
-
A connection is only needed
for synchronizing, i.e.: to get or send data.
-

go to http://www.itc.virginia.edu/csd/wireless/deployments.html
Beginning
synchronization process:
-
Start movianVPN.
-
Log into VPN. For “Can’t get IP address” error, see
below.
-
Exit VPN.
-
Start UVA Assets
-
Log in.
-
Tap ‘Synchronize Data’
-
Select ‘Get LOV Data’ as
needed.
-
Select ‘Get Asset Data from
FA’
Ending
synchronization process:
-
Exit from UVA Assets
-
Start movianVPN.
-
Log into VPN. For “Can’t get IP address” error, see
below.
-
Exit VPN.
-
Start UVA Assets
-
Log in.
-
Tap ‘Synchronize Data’
-
Select ‘Send Asset Data to
FA’. You should get ‘Operation
successful’.
To
check or reset the IP address:
-
Start the wireless connection
interface by tapping the icon in lower right corner of Start screen to bring up
the Symbol Status screen for the wireless connection. (You may also have icons for other things.)
-
Tap the IP Config tab. (You
may need to scroll the tabs using arrows.)
-
The IP Address may be zeros
initially but will change in a few seconds if an address can be obtained.
-
If you need to reset the IP
Address, press the power button twice to recycle the connection.
-
If an IP Address appears, tap
OK. If not, check the signal, as
follows.
To
check the wireless signal strength:
-
Start the wireless connection
interface by tapping the icon in lower right corner of Start screen to bring up
the Symbol Status screen for the wireless connection. (You may also have icons for other things.)

Tap the Signal tab. (You may
need to scroll the tabs using arrows.)
-
If the signal is good, tap
OK. If not, you will need to move closer
to an access point.
-
If you have a signal but no
IP, try resetting the IP again, and/or a soft reboot.
