| For just
over three years, only U.Va.
employees who have wanted
to enroll in a training
or professional development
course offered by the University
have done so through the
Integrated System’s
Employee Self Service application.
Beginning March 1, 2005,
all University employees
will use Self Service to
view their monthly, biweekly,
or semi-monthly payslips.
On-line payslips is the
first comprehensive rollout
of Employee Self Service,
but not the last, according
to Barbara Henry, ISDS Director
of Human Resources Applications.
“University Human
Resources (UHR) and ISDS,
in consultation with University
Audit, are working to
offer U.Va. employees
as many self service options
as possible,” says
Henry. “The next
new feature will give
employees the opportunity
to view their own W2 on
line. This will be particularly
helpful for those who
misplace the W2 that came
in the mail and need a
replacement. They will
be able to log into Employee
Self Service and print
out a new copy.”
Within the next several
months, employees
will be able to view
their employment information
and history through Employee
Self Service. Henry anticipates
that, not long after that,
employees will be able
to update their own personal
information,
such as address, phone
number, and tax withholding
preferences (W4 forms).
